Balmar Wins Rodney A. Anderson "Best of Show" Award

Balmar has received national acclaim by winning several awards at this year’s National Calendar Awards. Awarded “Best of Show”, Balmar’s 2010 calendar, “Social Networking,” won the calendar publishing industry’s premier competition, recognizing the highest quality calendar design and production in the world.

One calendar from among all National Calendar Award entrants is selected as the winner of the Rodney A. Anderson “Best of Show” award. That winner is the best overall calendar produced for 2010 in the United States.

Judging was completed by a panel of industry professionals assembled by the Calendar Marketing Association - the only worldwide trade association for the calendar industry. The judges, who go through a three-round final judging, selected our calendar as Calendar of the Year from a field of five other calendar winners.

The competition received hundreds of entries from over fifteen countries. Winners were selected for the 2010 National and World Calendar awards competition based on criteria such as quality of artwork, photography and design, readability and quality of the calendar grid, originality, and the complete execution of the calendar’s theme.

Balmar’s entry designed by Ellipse Design also won 3 of the 5 available technical categories with Gold Awards for Best Graphic Design, Best Printing, and Best Typography. The calendar also received a Silver Award for Best Animal/Wildlife Photography.

The final recognition Balmar received was a Gold Award for Most Creative Marketing Application. This was in recognition of the marketing campaign that clients participated in by pre-ordering copies of the calendar through a micro site and answering a few questions. The information that Balmar generated from those orders was used to generate a personalized calendar flysheet for each person who ordered a calendar.

This is a very prestigious honor for Balmar in an extremely competitive industry. It is truly a great achievement to be selected from among hundreds of highly creative designs from all over the world to receive the Rodney A. Anderson "Best of Show" award.
