Balmar CEO Wins Entrepreneur of the Year
Arlington, Virginia - Balmar CEO and Chairman Jim O’Hare was recently chosen "Consumer Services and Products Entrepreneur of the Year" in the Washington regional competition sponsored by Ernst & Young LLP.

The announcement was made at the regional awards banquet held June 25, 1998 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Tysons Corner, Virginia where finalists in 10 categories were honored. Winners in each category will compete for national recognition in Palm Springs, California in a nationally televised event held November 12-15, 1998. Previous national award winners have included Steve Case of America Online, Michael Dell of Dell Computer Corporation and Howard Schultz of Starbucks Coffee.
The Entrepreneur of the Year program was founded in 1986 by professional services firm Ernst & Young LLP. According to Ernst & Young, the program recognizes entrepreneurs who have demonstrated "excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities."
"I take great pride in the accomplishments of Balmar over the past 32 years," said O’Hare, "and this award is very satisfying recognition from our colleagues in the Washington business community."
