Balmar 2007 Calendar Wins Best in Show in National Competition (April 17, 2007)

Balmar's 2007 calendar, "Decades" was awarded the Rodney A. Anderson Award as Best in Show winner in the national and world calendar awards program sponsored by the Calendar Marketing Association. The Calendar Awards Program is the industry's premier competition, recognizing the highest quality calendar design and production in the world.

The calendar that is named "Best in Show" is the overall best calendar produced in the United States for that year and is determined by a review of the entries receiving the highest score in each class/division/category combination. The winning calendar is chosen from a three-round decision making process.

Chosen from hundreds of highly creative designs, Balmar's entry, designed by Ellipse was also recognized as the best in graphic design. The calendar, printed in our Gaithersburg printing plant was recognized the best in the printing category. "Decades" was also given top honors as Most Informative and Most Original.

In choosing the theme for our calendar we wanted to celebrate our 40th year in business by embarking on a visual retrospective dating back to 1966 when Balmar opened it's doors. Our design team, Ellipse captured the iconic images and moments that have shaped our perspective and memories of the past four decades.

The calendar is a remarkable showcase of the talent, craftsmanship, hard work and dedication of our employees. We are very pleased with the final product and the feedback that we have received from our customers. We are honored that it has received such a prestigious award.
